My journey to activism started with results of the 2016 election in the United States. Witnessing the unfolding of racism, hate speech from politicians, and seeing people's human rights stripped away, I knew I could not sit silently on the sidelines and watch people systemically harmed in such a way.
As a mental health professional, I am tasked with a duty to warn and protect people and this was a moment in time when atrocities were being carried out by the people in power and by the highest offices of the government.
I am an activist, community organizer, collaborator, and speaker and I continue to find ways to empower others and advocate for human rights. I am a member of the ACLU, NAACP, and the Human Rights Campaign (HRC).
Black lives matter. Women's rights are human rights. No human is illegal. Science is real. Love is love.

"We can agree to disagree and love each other unless your disagreement is rooted in my oppression and denial of my humanity and right to exist.”
