Who I am
I truly believe that every human being can benefit from and improve their life if they are open to therapy. We all have messaging we tell ourselves that is unhealthy and can lead to negative self-talk, lower self-esteem, anxiety, depression, and stop us from living our best life.
I strive to provide a safe, nonjudgmental space for all my clients to look at themselves and find new ways to be in this world. My work is influenced by Humanistic, Existential, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). This means that I provide an open space for clients to explore and share in a nonjudgmental place and ask the hard questions in life. I also share tools from CBT to help people find new patterns of self-talk and improve their quality of life.
I have had a passion for mental health and therapy since I was young. I have over 19 years of experience working with clients in many different settings from schools, community mental health centers, clinics, private practice, to out in the community. I have extensive experience working with individuals in crisis, with anxiety, with life transitions, with depression, and with adolescents and young adults.
My first entrance into this field was an extensive internship during my undergraduate experience at a Suicide and Crisis Hotline. I believe that de-stigmatizing suicidal thoughts and feelings is vital and I strive to help normalize these types of conversations for my clients, if they arise.
In my role as high school counselor, I have extensive experience in academic counseling for students on how to be successful in high school and beyond all while staying balanced and true to oneself.
I am a strong advocate for Human Rights, Civil Rights, and the well-being of all. I have lived in the Bay Area of California for over 25 years and am active as an activist for equal rights for all.
I see my role as that of a guide alongside you on a path. We are walking the path of your journey together and I believe you have the agency to get where you need to go with some help and support from me as a guide.

"Perhaps the single most important therapeutic credo that I have is that the unexamined life is not worth living.”
